The Wayside Pulpit No.67
The Joy of our Salvation
Psalm 103:10-12 He
has not dealt with us after our sins, nor rewarded us according to our
iniquities, for as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is His mercy
toward those who fear Him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He
removed our transgressions from us. [N.B. The north pole is a measured distance
from the south pole, but there is no way to measure the east from the west.]
Micah 7:18-19 Who is
a God like unto Thee, who pardons iniquity, and passes by the transgression of
the remnant of His heritage? He retains not His anger for ever, because He
delights in mercy. He will turn again, He will have compassion on us, He will
subdue our iniquities. Thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of
the sea.
Isaiah 43:25. I, even
I, am He who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and will not
remember your sins. Ephesians
1:7 In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of
sins, according to the riches of His grace.

Many have wanted to sing to
the Lord in remembrance of His great love, mercy, and forgiveness. Here are a
few "oldies" which never lose their appeal -
Gone, gone, gone, gone, yes my sins have gone!
Now my soul is free and in my heart's a song!
Buried in the deepest
sea, yes, that's good enough for me!
I shall live eternally,
praise God, my sins have gone!
Helen Griggs 1936
Down in the depths of the deepest sea,
Lie all the sins once
charged to me.
Buried for time and
eternity,
Down in the deepest
sea.
Norman J. Clayton. 1945
I'm so happy and here's the reason why,
Jesus took my burden
all away!
Now I'm singing as the
days go by,
Jesus took my burden
all away!
Once my heart was heavy
with a load of sin,
Jesus took the load and
gave me peace within,
Now I'm happy and that's the reason why,
Jesus took my burden all away.
You ask me why I'm happy, so I'll just tell you why,
Because my sins are
gone!
And when I meet the
scoffers, who ask me where they are
I say, my sins are
gone!
They're underneath the
blood, on the cross of
As far removed as darkness is from dawn;
In the
Praise God, my sins are
gone!
